Hi, I'm Jay (they/her).
Whether you're carrying the weight of grief, navigating identity questions, or struggling with anxiety, burnout, or trauma, I want you to know: you don’t have to face this alone. Life is complex and often overwhelming, particularly if you feel misunderstood and marginalized by the systems around you. I offer a compassionate, judgment-free space where you can begin to explore what healing, connection, and growth might look like for you.
I provide therapy for individuals and couples across the lifespan, from teens to elders, and offer both in-person appointments at my office in Plymouth, and remote sessions throughout Michigan. Wherever you are on your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you.
I believe that healing can begin once we're truly seen and accepted just as we are. My approach is collaborative, grounded in the humanistic tradition, and always tailored to your needs and lived experience. You are the expert on your own life. My role is to offer support, insight, and reflection as you uncover meaning, build skills, and reconnect with your authentic self.
I work from a foundation that honors complexity and diversity, especially in the face of societal, familial, or internal messages that pathologize the things that set us apart. Our work together may include exploring identity, strengthening self-compassion, untangling painful stories, or navigating life’s inevitable transitions. There is no one-size-fits-all formula here. Just space for you to be fully you, to bring your full self into the present.
While my practice draws from a range of therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic, existential, narrative, and cognitive-behavioral techniques; the heart of my work is always relational. Whether you’re seeking clarity, relief, growth, or simply a place to feel understood, we’ll move at your pace, in your context, with your goals guiding the way.
Many of the people I work with are navigating life through lenses that are often overlooked or misunderstood: LGBTQ+ identity, neurodivergence, history of trauma, burnout, or unconventional relationships. Some are teens or young adults trying to figure out who they are and why they're here. Others are reflecting on the paths they’ve taken, what they've lost along the way, and where they might go next.
Some arrive in crisis. Others are simply tired of feeling stuck, disconnected, or unseen. Regardless of where you start, this is a space where your complexity is welcomed and where your full self is not only allowed, but deeply valued.
Our struggles don’t always fit into neat categories, but here are some of those I've encountered in my work:
